Being an oncology nurse opened my eyes to the fragility of life, and the importance of pursuing my dreams. I have always been artistic, but I wasted too much time thinking about art, and not enough time doing it.
Since my return to art, I have dabbled in landscapes, still lifes, and figurative paintings. I keep returning to whimsical feminine figures who are floating in their own universe. My characters exist in colorful palettes of blues, corals, pinks and yellows. Sometimes I paint with brushes; sometimes my fingers. My medium of choice is acrylic because it is forgiving, and the mediums allow me to embellish my canvases with mixed media ephemera and papers, if needed.
